About Auto Storage

Quick to grow, Slow to Change

Automotive growth is throwing up some new and unusual challenges for logistics in India, as well as highlighting familiar problems.

New challenges include a sharp increase in sales going to rural areas, and Auto Makers are making commitments to many more after-sales service points.

The continuing problems include poor logistics infrastructure, unorganized warehouse, storage yard & inadequate multi-modal logistics.

Challenges

challenge

Do the auto and allied industries in India have sufficient number of logistics providers to handle the evolving volume? Automobile manufacturers need dedicated Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) having specially designed transport vehicles (car carriers) and storage facilities (Warehouse & car yards).

Maintaining this type of infrastructure to fulfill the needs of a limited number of target users is challenging, hence there are limited number of participants in the 'automobile logistics services', especially in the warehousing & Car storage services.

Inspiration

Warehousing is an integral part of the logistics industry and is mostly a disorganized business in India. According to the KPMG-CII report, India has a total warehousing space of approx. 1,800 million sq./ft., of which only 8 percent (144 million sq./ft.) is in the organized sector.

This huge gap & vast scope of Logistics Infrastructure development has inspired us to become Logistics Professional to work towards creating Good Quality warehousing infrastructure to increase the logistics performance with efficient logistics management.
